We are a 900 place 11-16 Academy and a specialist Sports College, based in the historic mining town of Madeley in Telford. Our facility is ‘state of the art’ and will be further enhanced in 2011 when an extension to accommodate sixth form will be completed.
The Year 7 admission number is 180 and there will be 100 sixth form places in 2011. Fifty sixth form places are also available to our students at Thomas Telford School with whom we have systems for sharing students to help meet individual needs. Some students therefore move between the two schools for specialist courses.
As an independent school we are governed and managed by the Madeley Academy Trust. We do however work closely with the Local Authority and other schools in Telford & Wrekin. In particular we manage a School Sport Partnership with half of the Secondary and Primary schools in Telford with a remit to improve participation rates in PE and sport.
We are sponsored by the Edge Foundation and our main sponsor Thomas Telford School. We work closely with Sandwell Academy, Walsall Academy and Thomas Telford School on joint projects, training and share resources.
